Dutch Motorcyclist ‘Itchy Boots’ Voices Concerns Regarding Police Conduct in Pakistan

Noraly, the well-known Dutch motorcyclist and vlogger recognized as ‘Itchy Boots,’ recently journeyed through Pakistan. She has conveyed her dissatisfaction with the actions of the local police force during her visit.

The adventure motorcyclist, who boasts over 2.8 million YouTube subscribers, recently documented her experiences traveling through northern Pakistan. Her account encompassed both appreciation for the local people’s hospitality and unease regarding the police’s behavior.

In a video that was published on her YouTube channel, Noraly chronicled her voyage from Islamabad to Besham. This lengthy ride spanned approximately 270 kilometers and consumed nearly 11 hours of travel time.

Throughout her journey, she received escorts from numerous police and counter-terrorism units, which is standard procedure in certain regions of Pakistan to ensure the wellbeing of international visitors.

During her travels, Noraly faced repeated, inappropriate inquiries from various police personnel, which clearly made her uncomfortable.

The probing questions from police officers extended to her personal life, such as her age and marital status.

She was also questioned on the whereabouts of her husband during the trip.

In her videos, she responded with politeness but remained firm, questioning, “Is this a police matter to inquire about?” in an attempt to divert the overly personal lines of questioning.

Noraly clarified in her video that while she was disturbed by the interrogations, she did not hold any individual officer accountable.

“I apologise for everything to you,” one officer expressed.

She responded, “No, no, it’s not your fault.”

Noraly did, however, offer praise for the general warmth and generosity demonstrated by Pakistani citizens.

In her video, she expressed gratitude for the generosity of a hotel proprietor who waived the cost of her food, as she was being treated as a guest.

She stated, “The hotel owner didn’t even take money from me.”

She also drew attention to the scenic splendor of northern Pakistan, referring to the landscapes as “absolutely stunning.”
