Meghan Markle Compared to Kate Middleton in Branding Tactics
Meghan Markle has once again been placed in comparison with Kate Middleton.
Brand and culture specialist Nick Ede shared these opinions during an interview.
He believes that Meghan’s strategies for her brand and other endeavors differ significantly from Kate Middleton’s.
He described her approach as “slap-dash,” noting her involvement in various projects since stepping down from the Royal Family in 2020, including podcasting, humanitarian work with Archewell, and Netflix productions.
This “unsettled approach” has been criticized because, as he believes, “Meghan hasn’t really earned her stripes yet.”
“She’s not the fashionista yet, she’s not the cook yet, she’s not the make-up expert yet. Nothing feels particularly rounded in actual knowledge, so people begin to turn off,” he mentioned during the discussion.
He further admitted, “We’ve been on this journey with Harry and Meghan, but when we get to the crux of it, it never goes anywhere.”
“Everything feels like a scattergun approach. Nothing seems thought out or strategised. She and Harry seem to think, ‘Yes, I’ll take the money, and work out what to do afterwards’.”
In contrast, when comparing their approach to Kate’s, he noted that she maintains a more “steely focus” by supporting a select number of charities focused on early childhood development.
Mr. Ede views this as making her a “well-respected expert” and someone who is “looked up to” for “real passion”.
