Punjab Police Officer’s Heartwarming Gesture Goes Viral

A moving scene involving a Punjab Police official warmly greeting Sikh pilgrims at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal has become a viral sensation on social media. The gesture has been widely lauded as a potent illustration of Pakistan’s dedication to interfaith harmony and welcoming spirit.

The now-viral video showcases the police officer embracing an elderly Sikh woman, tenderly calling her “mother,” and reciting an emotional poem.

Deeply touched, the elderly woman is seen weeping in the officer’s arms, while fellow pilgrims and onlookers document the heartfelt interaction.

Social media platforms have been flooded with messages of gratitude, commending the officer’s empathy and humanity, and celebrating the message of unity and respect conveyed through his actions.

Gurdwara Panja Sahib, revered as one of the most sacred sites in Sikhism, attracts numerous pilgrims to Pakistan, particularly during religious festivals and significant commemorations.

It is worth noting that relations between Pakistan and India have deteriorated significantly following the deadly attack on April 22 in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). In this tragic event, 26 tourists, including a Nepali national, were fatally shot in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley.

In the aftermath, India promptly accused Pakistan of backing “cross-border terrorism,” labeling the assault as the deadliest against civilians in Kashmir in almost a quarter-century.

Islamabad has strongly refuted any involvement, dismissing India’s accusations as unfounded and irrational. They have also warned that they would respond decisively to any form of aggression.

Subsequently, New Delhi reportedly suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, lowered diplomatic ties, revoked visas for Pakistanis, and closed the primary land border crossing with Pakistan.

In response, Islamabad expelled Indian diplomats and military advisors, cancelled visas for Indian citizens, making an exception for Sikh pilgrims, and closed the primary border crossing from its side.

The United Nations (UN) has since appealed to both nations to exercise utmost restraint and resolve their disputes peacefully through dialogue.
