Paul and Davis Set to Clash on November 14
According to reports from international media on Wednesday, David Steven Sparks believes Gervonta Davis possesses the power to knock out Jake Paul with a well-placed blow.
YouTuber-turned-boxer, Paul, has revealed his upcoming fight, an exhibition match scheduled for November 14 against Davis. The announcement came as a surprise, considering Paul’s usual competition in the 200-pound weight division, while Davis has historically fought at or below 140 pounds.
Davis, the WBA world champion at 135lbs, will not be defending his title in this contest.
David ‘Flat Sparks’, a boxer with several fights between 2014 and 2016 who gained notoriety for sparring with Paul in preparation for a potential bout against Mike Tyson, and who also trained with ‘Tank’ at Mayweather Gym, commented that Davis is capable of a knockout if he lands a solid punch.
“If Tank connects with a clean shot on Jake Paul, he is certainly capable of knocking him out. While I’m not sure it will happen, the potential is there,” David remarked.
“His size isn’t a disadvantage. I’ve witnessed Tank stop numerous sparring partners, including larger individuals like heavyweights and middleweights. If he hits a big man correctly, he’ll knock him out. I’ve seen it personally.”
Reflecting on his sparring sessions with Paul, he commended the YouTuber turned boxer’s resilience, noting his ability to both deliver and absorb hits.
“During my initial sparring session with Jake Paul, I underestimated him. I wasn’t putting in full effort, and J’Leon cautioned me against it. That’s when Paul surprised me. I realized I couldn’t take it easy. He can both give and take punches,” he added.“When it comes to a fight between him and Tank, both will be aiming to inflict damage. I believe Tank’s best strategy is to leverage his superior boxing experience.”
