Jacks Shines with Bat and Ball in Mumbai Indians’ Victory

MUMBAI: Will Jacks complemented his impressive bowling performance of 2/14 with a vital 36-run innings, guiding Mumbai Indians to a comfortable four-wicket triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match was held at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

After being asked to bat, the visiting team managed a total of 162/5. Their renowned batting lineup faced difficulties against a well-organized bowling attack on a challenging pitch.

Abhishek Sharma, who had scored a century in their previous victory against Punjab Kings, was the top scorer for SRH.

Sharma once again spearheaded the SRH batting, scoring a quick 40 off 28 balls, including seven fours.

He also formed a 59-run partnership with Travis Head, who cautiously scored 28 off 29 balls, hitting three boundaries.

Besides the openers, Heinrich Klaasen contributed a notable 37 off 28 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes.

For Mumbai Indians, Jacks spearheaded the bowling attack with two wickets, while Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya each secured one wicket.

In response, the Mumbai Indians chased down the target comfortably, winning with six wickets down and 13 balls remaining, thanks to a collective batting performance.

Jacks was also the highest scorer with 36 runs off 26 balls, including three fours and two sixes.

Ryan Rickelton (31), Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav (26 each) made valuable contributions during the run chase.

Pat Cummins stood out for SRH, claiming three wickets for 26 runs in his four overs. Eshan Malinga took two wickets, and Harshal Patel claimed one.

This four-wicket victory solidified Mumbai Indians’ position at seventh place in the IPL 2025 standings with six points from seven matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad remained at ninth place with four points after as many games.
