Dana White Identifies Derrick Lewis as UFC’s Most Intimidating Fighter

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White has declared heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis as the most frightening competitor in the organization.

During a conversation with British Mixed Martial Artist Paddy Pimblett on Pimblett’s YouTube channel, White was prompted to name the scariest fighter he has encountered throughout his involvement in the sport.

White immediately responded by naming Lewis, known as ‘The Black Beast.’ However, he noted that Lewis’s sense of humor is the only attribute that diminishes his intimidating persona, observing that Lewis can occasionally be quite amusing.

“When Derrick Lewis is at a face-off, the only thing that makes him even remotely less scary is that he genuinely possesses a sense of humor,” White stated.

“He can be funny at times, but if you were to face Derrick Lewis in the ring and he disliked you, it would be a dangerous situation,” White added.

The UFC head, reflecting on a past face-off involving Lewis, shared that he had concerns for the safety of the other fighter if a physical confrontation had occurred.

White further admitted his fear of being inadvertently thrown into the audience by the fighters during such intense moments.

“I was once positioned between him and another fighter at a face-off, and I felt practically invisible. If they had decided to engage, I was sure they would have sent me flying into the third row without hesitation, and there was nothing I could have done to prevent it,” he concluded.
