Turner Finalizes USD 108.9 Million Deal with Bucks

LAS VEGAS: Myles Turner has officially signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, addressing the media alongside head coach Doc Rivers and general manager Jon Horst on Friday. He expressed his enthusiasm about the move.

The seasoned center, who dedicated nearly a decade to the Indiana Pacers, emphasized that the chance to play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo was a pivotal factor in his choice.

Turner mentioned that his recent NBA experiences have changed what he values most, revealing that remaining competitive is his chief objective.

“For me, it ultimately came down to staying in contention. Two seasons prior, we advanced to the Conference Finals, and last year, we reached the Finals. Being a significant contributor to a winning team has completely reshaped my view of the league. I recognized an opportunity to maintain that competitive edge here,” Turner stated.

The Bucks have secured Turner with a four-year contract worth USD 108.9 million, which features a player option for the 2028–29 season.

Turner is coming off a standout season, achieving a 39.6 percent success rate from three-point range while posting averages of 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game. He also established a team record with 46 blocks during Indiana’s playoff journey.

Milwaukee is seemingly committed to reinforcing their roster around their MVP leader, having also acquired Gary Trent Jr., Bobby Portis, Taurean Prince, and Ryan Rollins during this offseason.

Turner humorously remarked about finally joining forces with Antetokounmpo, alluding to the physical demands of his previous role as a frontcourt player.

“I was just done with constantly absorbing those shoulders and elbows to the chest,” Turner concluded.
