Trail Blazers Secure Victory Over Kings, Set to Host Warriors

PORTLAND: In a thrilling preseason NBA matchup held at Moda Center on Friday, the Portland Trail Blazers emerged victorious with a 124-123 win against the Sacramento Kings.

Both teams displayed great determination throughout the game. The Blazers improved their preseason record to 1-1, while the Kings now stand at 0-2.

Deni Avdija was instrumental for the Trail Blazers, amassing 15 points, securing six rebounds, and providing two assists in 23 minutes on the court.

Shaedon Sharpe contributed an additional 17 points in just 28 minutes, underscoring his potential as a key offensive player. Rookie center Donovan Clingan also impressed, scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds in just 18 minutes of play.

Portland showcased a well-rounded offensive effort, with ten players each scoring a minimum of six points. Jerami Grant, leveraging his experience, added 11 points in 18 minutes, while Kris Murray and Duop Reath each chipped in eight points to bolster the attack.

The contest remained tight, with the Kings initially seizing the advantage in the first half, leading 68-63 at halftime and maintaining a slight edge into the fourth quarter.

However, Portland’s reserves elevated their game during critical moments, outscoring the Kings 29-27 in the final quarter to ultimately clinch the victory.

Both teams posted field goal percentages under 50%, with the Blazers achieving 47.3%. Free throws proved decisive, as the home team successfully converted 28 of 40 attempts.

Following this win, the Trail Blazers are scheduled to host the Golden State Warriors on October 14.
