Tottenham Hotspur Announces Player Departures

Tottenham Hotspur, the Europa League champions, declared on Saturday the exit of Fraser Forster, Alfie Whiteman, and Sergio Reguilon as their contracts reached completion. Additionally, Timo Werner’s loan agreement from RB Leipzig has concluded.

Sergio, who became part of the team in 2020, has been a reliable player, making valuable contributions throughout his tenure.

Alfie, recognized as one of the longest-serving members of the present group, has been with the club since 2017, assuming a crucial part both on the field and in the locker room.

Fraser, who joined in the summer of 2022, injected zeal and dedication into his time with the squad.

“We can confirm the departures of Fraser Forster, Sergio Reguilon and Alfie Whiteman following the conclusion of their contracts, while Timo Werner departs following the conclusion of his loan spell from RB Leipzig,” the club stated in an official release.

“Left-back Sergio arrived in 2020 and started the 2021 Carabao Cup Final against Manchester City.

“Homegrown goalkeeper Alfie came up through our Academy system before breaking through into the senior squad. He first appeared on the bench for us in 2017 and made his competitive first team debut in a UEFA Europa League victory over Ludogorets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November, 2020.”

The organization recognized their commitment to the team and expressed gratitude for their contributions.

“We thank Fraser, Sergio, Alfie and Timo for their service and wish them well for the future.”

Concurrently, Timo Werner will go back to his parent club, RB Leipzig, upon the finishing of his second loan period in North London.

This action signifies the commencement of Spurs’ summer endeavors as they aim to bolster the club in anticipation of a Champions League campaign in 2025/26.

All four players actively participated in the celebrations on May 21, which saw manager Ange Postecoglou guide his squad to a 1-0 triumph against Manchester United in the Europa League final.
