Javier Báez Leads Tigers to Victory with Four RBIs in 8-6 Win

DENVER: The Detroit Tigers secured a close 8-6 victory against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Wednesday, continuing their impressive start to the 2025 MLB season.

Jackson Jobe, the right-handed pitcher, delivered a steady performance for Detroit, guiding the Tigers to their fifth triumph in six games.

With a current record of 23-13, Detroit is establishing itself as a noteworthy contender in the league.

The Tigers initiated the scoring early, with Spencer Torkelson driving in the first run in the opening inning. Kerry Carpenter contributed with a run and an RBI.

Javier Báez, however, emerged as the star player, driving in four runs and scoring one himself to propel the Tigers forward.

By the third inning, Detroit had established a significant advantage, while the Rockies struggled to generate offensive momentum.

Despite efforts from Hunter Goodman and Brenton Doyle, Colorado was unable to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. Ryan McMahon stood out for the Rockies, recording two runs and two RBIs, but it was not sufficient to shift the game’s momentum.

With consistent support from their pitching and defense, the Tigers maintained command throughout the game. Torkelson added a solo home run later, highlighting Detroit’s strong offensive showing.

The Rockies, now with a record of 6-28, remain at the bottom of the standings and are still seeking solutions to improve their performance.

Looking forward, Casey Mize is scheduled to pitch for the Tigers in the upcoming game of the series, while Colorado aims to regroup and avoid a series sweep.
