Jacob Duffy Replaces Mohammad Amir in Northern Superchargers Squad

LEEDS: New Zealand’s right-arm fast bowler, Jacob Duffy, is set to take Mohammad Amir’s place in the Northern Superchargers team for the remainder of The Hundred 2025 men’s tournament.

The franchise made the announcement on their various social media platforms with a photo of the New Zealand bowler in the Superchargers uniform.

“Jacob Duffy will be stepping in for Mohammad Amir for the remainder of The Hundred competition,” Superchargers confirmed.

Amir had previously played two games for the Superchargers as a temporary signing.

During his brief stint, the left-arm bowler managed to secure one wicket and score 11 runs.

Amir will now proceed to the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, where he is slated to play for Trinbago Knight Riders, marking his fourth team in the league since 2021.

Mohammad Amir has participated in 39 matches across four seasons, claiming 51 wickets at an average of 18.09.

Left-arm bowler Usman Tariq has also joined Amir, making his debut in an overseas league following successful stints in two Pakistan Super League (PSL) seasons in 2024 and 2025.

In addition, all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz is set to participate in his first CPL season, having been selected by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Another Pakistani participant in the league, all-rounder Imad Wasim, has rejoined Antigua and Barbuda Falcons after being released by the franchise prior to the player draft.

Imad is recognized as the most seasoned Pakistani player, with appearances in seven editions and a total of 64 matches.

Last year’s finalists, Guyana Amazon Warriors, have acquired the services of Pakistani spin all-rounder Hasan Khan, who has reportedly transitioned to USA cricket.

The 13th edition of the CPL is scheduled to be held from August 14 to September 21.
