Tatsuro Taira Secures Victory at UFC Vegas 108

LAS VEGAS: At UFC Vegas 108, Tatsuro Taira made a triumphant return, forcing a submission from the previously undefeated Hyun Sung Park just 66 seconds into the second round of their flyweight main event. The event took place at the UFC APEX on Saturday.

Following a close split decision defeat to Brandon Royval last October, Taira exhibited confidence, dominating Park with superior grappling skills before securing a face crank submission.

Park, recognized for his striking capabilities, struggled against Taira’s relentless pressure, leading to his first loss in his MMA career.

After his victory, the 24-year-old Japanese fighter, Taira, stated that he has refined his techniques and increased his physical strength.

“I’m back strong,” Taira declared.

Notably, Chris Duncan from Scotland secured a unanimous decision victory against Mateusz Rebecki of Poland in a lightweight match, with scores of 29-28, 29-28, and 30-27 in the co-main event.

In a women’s bantamweight bout, Karol Rosa of Brazil earned a unanimous decision win over France’s Nora Cornolle, with judges scoring the fight 30-26, 29-27, and 29-27. Rosa’s record now stands at 19-7, with two wins in her last three fights, while Cornolle’s record is 9-3, having split her last four matches.

Kevin Vallejos from Argentina (16-1) started the main card impressively with a clean sweep victory over Danny Silva, handing Silva (10-2) his first UFC defeat.

UFC Vegas 108 was marked by comebacks, decisive finishes, and the emergence of new talents.
