India’s Shreyas Iyer has been declared the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025, surpassing New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra for the esteemed title.

Iyer emerged as the top run-scorer during the specified month, amassing 243 runs. His performance was pivotal in India’s successful ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign.

This accolade marks the second consecutive Player of the Month award for India, with Shubman Gill having been recognized in February.

Throughout the tournament, Iyer played a crucial role in India’s middle order, providing stability through his composed approach. His contribution in anchoring innings and fostering vital partnerships was key to India’s success.

Upon receiving the award, Iyer expressed his gratitude:

“It’s a true honour to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March. This recognition holds immense significance, particularly as it coincides with our victory in the ICC Champions Trophy, a moment I will always treasure.

“Contributing to India’s success on such a prominent stage is the dream of every cricketer. I extend my thanks to my teammates, coaches, and support staff for their unwavering support and belief.

“I also want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the fans whose energy and encouragement motivate us every step of the way.”

The 30-year-old amassed 172 of his 243 runs over three matches in March, maintaining an average of 57.33 with a strike rate of 77.47, and delivering several remarkable performances.

During a group-stage match against New Zealand, he scored 79 off 98 balls, which included four boundaries and two sixes, aiding India in posting a competitive total of 250 on a challenging pitch.

The batter also contributed 45 off 62 deliveries in the semi-final win over Australia, before concluding the tournament with an unbeaten 48 off 62 balls in the final, against New Zealand, as India secured the title.
