Shaheen Afridi Achieves Milestone of 300 T20 Wickets
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan’s prominent fast bowler, achieved a new milestone on Wednesday by completing 300 wickets in Twenty20 cricket.
The left-arm bowler reached this landmark during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 match between the defending champions Islamabad United and the Lahore Qalandars at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Afridi achieved the milestone by dismissing Islamabad United’s opening batsman, Sahibzada Farhan, for just nine runs, securing his 300th T20 wicket.
Shaheen now joins the ranks of seven Pakistani bowlers who have taken 300 or more wickets in T20 matches, including Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, Shahid Afridi, and Shadab Khan.

The 25-year-old has displayed good form in the current PSL season, securing nine wickets in seven matches, with his best figures being 3/34.
After being asked to bat first, Shaheen’s Qalandars scored 209/6 in their 20 overs.
Opening batsman Fakhar Zaman led the way for the hosts, scoring 44 runs off 30 balls, including two sixes and five fours. Sikandar Raza (39) and Sam Billings (38) also made valuable contributions for the Qalandars.
In the bowling department, Imad Wasim and Jason Holder of Islamabad United each claimed two wickets, while Ben Dwarshuis took one.
When this report was compiled, Islamabad United were struggling at 114/9 in 16 overs while chasing a target of 210.
