Shadab Khan Achieves Milestone: First Spinner to 100 PSL Wickets

Islamabad United’s captain, Shadab Khan, made history on Wednesday by becoming the first spinner to claim 100 wickets in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

This significant achievement occurred during Islamabad United’s ongoing PSL 10 match against Multan Sultans at Multan Cricket Stadium, marking his 89th appearance in the league.

Shadab secured his 100th wicket by dismissing Multan Sultans’ captain, Mohammad Rizwan, who was caught out after contributing 36 runs.

Consequently, he is now the fourth player overall and the first spinner to reach this milestone in the league’s history.

Currently, he holds the fourth position on the list, which is topped by Hasan Ali of Karachi Kings, who has 118 wickets in 86 innings.

Most Wickets in PSL History:
  • Hasan Ali – 118 wickets in 86 innings
  • Wahab Riaz – 113 wickets in 87 innings
  • Shaheen Shah Afridi – 109 wickets in 75 innings
  • Shadab Khan – 100 wickets in 89 innings
  • Faheem Ashraf – 79 wickets in 73 innings

In the recent match, Shadab secured just one wicket but maintained an economical bowling performance, conceding only 29 runs across three overs.

His effective bowling, combined with a wicket each from Mohammad Nawaz, Jason Holder, and Riley Meredith, helped Islamabad United restrict the Multan Sultans to a total of 168/5 in 20 overs.

Match Update:

At the time of this report, United were at 112/2 in 11 overs, chasing a target of 169, with Andries Gous and Mohammad Nawaz at the crease.
