Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Al Nassr Future

Cristiano Ronaldo has stirred speculation about his future with Al Nassr, posting a cryptic message on social media after his final Saudi Pro League match. The post came following a defeat.

The 40-year-old Portuguese star joined Al Nassr in 2022, with his contract currently slated to end in June.

Despite finishing the season as the Saudi Pro League’s top scorer with 25 goals, Ronaldo’s team concluded the season in third place with 70 points. Al Ittihad topped the league with 83 points, followed by Al Hilal with 75 points, after 34 games.

Al Nassr also failed to qualify for the next AFC Champions League season.

Following the league’s final match, Ronaldo shared a photo of himself in the Al Nassr jersey on X, formerly Twitter, accompanied by a puzzling message:

The Message
  • “This chapter is over,”
  • “The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

Al Nassr was defeated 3-2 by Al Fateh in their final match, where Ronaldo marked his 99th goal in his 105th appearance for the club.

Reports surfaced last week indicating that Ronaldo has been presented with a potentially lucrative offer from a Brazilian club that will compete in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Brazilian teams such as Botafogo, Fluminense, Flamengo, and Palmeiras are set to participate in the next month’s competition.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino also mentioned ongoing ‘discussions’ regarding Cristiano Ronaldo potentially participating in the event this summer, despite Al-Nassr not qualifying.

The expanded 32-team Club World Cup is scheduled to occur from June 14 to July 13 in the United States. This will be FIFA’s first tournament utilizing the new format.
