Rockets Soar to Victory in Game 2 Behind Jalen Green’s Explosive Performance
HOUSTON: The Houston Rockets responded emphatically, leveling their first-round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors with a dominant 109-94 triumph in Game 2 at the Toyota Center on Thursday.
Fueled by a spectacular 38-point outburst from Jalen Green, it was a well-rounded team effort.
Green was a force to be reckoned with, consistently driving to the basket, eluding defenders, and sinking crucial shots that kept the Warriors off balance throughout the contest.
The Rockets began the game with intensity, establishing an early 28-18 lead in the first quarter. They maintained control, outscoring the Warriors in the initial three quarters and never giving up their advantage.
Veteran guard Fred VanVleet offered valuable guidance in the backcourt, amassing six rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
Alperen Şengün proved to be a presence in the paint, adding 17 points and six rebounds, while Dillon Brooks contributed 16 points and provided tenacity on both ends of the court with his relentless perimeter defense.
Golden State mounted a brief comeback attempt in the third quarter, but ultimately couldn’t match Houston’s intensity or shooting prowess. The Rockets’ defense tightened up in the final period, holding the Warriors to just 23 points and effectively shutting down their primary scoring threats.
Amen Thompson contributed significantly off the bench, scoring 11 points, grabbing three rebounds, and dishing out three assists in just 23 minutes. Tari Eason also played a pivotal role, adding 14 points and securing six rebounds in a strong all-around showing.
With the series now deadlocked at 1-1, the Rockets will aim to carry their momentum into Game 3 as the series heads to the Chase Center in San Francisco.
