Chris Paul Reportedly Returns to Los Angeles Clippers

Veteran point guard Chris Paul, a 12-time All-Star, has reportedly reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers on a one-year contract. This will mark Paul’s 21st season in the NBA and a return to a team where he previously starred.

Sources indicate the agreement is valued at $3.6 million.

Paul, age 40, began his NBA career with the New Orleans Hornets in 2005. He initially joined the Clippers before the 2011-12 season and was instrumental in leading the team to at least 51 victories in five of his six seasons with the franchise.

During his tenure with the Clippers, Paul earned All-Star honors five times. He holds the franchise record for assists (4,023) and steals per game (2.2).

Paul recently played his 20th NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs, starting in all 82 games. During that season, he averaged 8.8 points and 7.4 assists, while achieving a shooting percentage of 42.7% from the field and 37.7% from three-point range.

The Clippers have also made other significant acquisitions, including Bradley Beal on a two-year deal and John Collins and Brook Lopez as free agents.

Chris Paul becomes a free agent in consecutive years. The Spurs signed him to a one-year, $10 million contract last time.

Throughout his illustrious career, the 12-time All-Star has established himself as one of the premier guards in the NBA, leading the league in assists five times and steals six times.

He has been selected to the All-NBA team 11 times, with four first-team selections, three of which were while playing for the Clippers.

Paul was selected as the No. 4 overall pick by the New Orleans Hornets in the 2005 NBA Draft and was subsequently named the NBA Rookie of the Year.
