Reds Crush Orioles as Noelvi Marte Hits First Grand Slam
BALTIMORE: In a remarkable offensive showcase, the Cincinnati Reds dominated the Baltimore Orioles with a 24-2 victory at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Sunday. This win brings the Reds to an even 11-11 for the season.
Cincinnati’s offense exploded, scoring in all but two innings and racking up an impressive 25 hits.
The Reds scored multiple runs in the fourth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings, highlighted by a five-run seventh inning that extended their lead.
Catcher Austin Wynns had an outstanding game, going 6-for-7 with six RBIs and a home run. Noelvi Marte, batting third, contributed significantly, going 5-for-7 with seven RBIs, including his first career grand slam.
Austin Hays, the designated hitter, scored four runs with four hits, while left fielder Gavin Lux walked three times and scored four runs.
On the mound, reliever Brent Suter pitched three scoreless innings, allowing only three hits.
The bullpen, featuring Ian Gibaut, Taylor Rogers, Scott Barlow, and Ricky Karcher, supported Suter by allowing just two runs and striking out eight Orioles.
