Red Sox Secure Victory Over Yankees

BRONX: In a Major League Baseball contest held at Yankee Stadium on Friday, Brayan Bello showcased exceptional pitching, guiding the Boston Red Sox to a 1-0 triumph against the New York Yankees. This win elevates Boston’s season record to 7-1.

Bello (10-6) dominated the game, pitching seven scoreless innings, allowing only three singles, and recording five strikeouts with one walk.

This marks his second impressive performance against the Yankees this season, following a similar showing on June 15 in Boston, and his third shutout start of the year.

The game’s decisive run occurred in the seventh inning. Pinch-hitter Nathaniel Lowe hit a double to deep right field, and Connor Wong then drove him in with a double down the left-field line off reliever Mark Leiter Jr.

Yankees starter Max Fried delivered a strong performance, allowing four hits over six innings, with three walks and seven strikeouts. However, New York’s offense struggled, managing just three hits throughout the game and failing to get a runner past second base.

Aroldis Chapman sealed the win in the ninth inning, striking out two batters to earn his 25th save of the season and secure Boston’s eighth shutout victory of the year.

This victory signifies the Red Sox’s seventh consecutive win against the Yankees since New York’s 9-6 win on June 6. Bello’s consistency has been a cornerstone of Boston’s progress in the American League playoff race. He has conceded three or fewer runs in 21 of his 23 starts this season.

Looking ahead, Boston is set to send left-hander Garrett Crochet to the mound on Saturday to compete against Yankees rookie right-hander Will Warren.
