Real Madrid Coach Hints at Key Player Inclusions for Upcoming Match
MIAMI: As Real Madrid prepares to face Juventus in the round of 16 at Hard Rock Stadium on Tuesday, Kylian Mbappe is anticipated to potentially mark his debut in the Club World Cup, according to reports.
The possible comeback of Mbappe occurs at an opportune moment for Real Madrid, as the team’s strength is reinforced by the returns of Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao.
Real Madrid’s manager, Xabi Alonso, during a press briefing, suggested that Mbappe, Carvajal, and Militao are all expected to participate in the game.
Alonso stated, “It’s quite possible. Dani and Eder are returning after extensive recovery periods. It benefits them and the entire squad to know they are close and involved.”
He also emphasized the significance of solidarity and unified effort during this crucial phase of the competition.
He further noted, “At this point, every player, whether in the starting lineup or coming off the bench, has a vital role. We aim for a cohesive team, where all 11 players are fully dedicated, whether we have possession or not. Our collective power will enable individual talents such as Vinicius, Mbappe, Rodrygo, and Bellingham to excel.”
Juventus’s head coach, Igor Tudor, acknowledged the tactical advancements Madrid has made under Alonso’s guidance.
Tudor commented, “Their most recent game closely resembled Leverkusen’s approach, featuring comparable plays, systems, and style. Xabi Alonso has swiftly put these concepts into action,” while also pointing out “some vulnerabilities we might be able to take advantage of.”
The victor of the Real Madrid versus Juventus match is set to compete against the victor of the Borussia Dortmund against Monterrey match, which is also scheduled for Tuesday in Atlanta.
