Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Round 1 Ends in Draws

The first round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QEAT) 2025-26 saw all five matches conclude in draws across various venues on Thursday. Memorable centuries by Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Haris of Peshawar against Sialkot were highlights of the round.

Peshawar vs. Sialkot

The match at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar was affected by rain, preventing play on two days. Peshawar declared at 376/5, and Sialkot responded with 156/3. Peshawar’s innings saw Rizwan score an unbeaten 123 and Haris an unbeaten 100, contributing to a 163-run partnership. Amad Butt and Mehran Mumtaz took two wickets each for Sialkot. Mohsin Riaz scored 67 for Sialkot, while Azan Awais remained unbeaten on 52. Abuzar claimed two wickets for Peshawar.

Abbottabad vs. Bahawalpur

At the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Muhammad Imran’s five-wicket haul forced Abbottabad to follow on. Abbottabad were dismissed for 166 in response to Bahawalpur’s 399. Mohammad Suleman scored 41 for Abbottabad. Imran took 5 for 26 for Bahawalpur, supported by Mohammad Azab with three wickets. Abbottabad managed 155/3 in their second innings, with Fakhar Zaman scoring 61. Gulfam Aziz, Mubasir Khan, and Saad Khan each took a wicket for Bahawalpur.

Karachi Whites vs. Faisalabad

The match between Karachi Whites and Faisalabad at the Marghzar Cricket Ground in Islamabad also ended in a draw. Karachi Whites secured a significant first-innings lead of 296 runs. Faisalabad were bowled out for 354, with Hasan scoring 172 and Irfan contributing 78. Mir Hamza and Mushtaq each claimed three wickets for Karachi Whites. Karachi Whites then scored 173/6, with Saim Ayub scoring 79. Ahmed Safi Abdullah took four wickets for Faisalabad.

Lahore Whites vs. Islamabad

At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Hussain Talat’s unbeaten century helped Lahore Whites surpass Islamabad’s first-innings total of 301. Lahore Whites reached 301 all out, with Talat scoring 106 not out. Nusratullah took three wickets for Islamabad. Islamabad scored 158/3 in their second innings, with Abdul Faseeh scoring 75. Salman Ali Agha took two wickets for Lahore Whites.

FATA vs. Multan

The match at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad between FATA and Multan resulted in a draw after Bismillah Khan’s century. Multan posted 394, securing a 121-run lead, with Bismillah scoring 138 and Sharoon Siraj adding 61. Zahid Mehmood took five wickets for FATA. FATA were 39/1 in their second innings. Mohammad Naeem remained unbeaten on 25, while Ali Usman took one wicket for Multan.

The second round of the QEAT is scheduled from October 12 to 15 across five venues in four cities.
