Sultans Clinch First Victory After Series of Defeats

In the 12th match of PSL 10, Multan Sultans, playing at home, defeated Lahore Qalandars by a convincing margin of 33 runs at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

The Sultans, batting first, amassed a significant score of 228/5, propelled by a rapid half-century from opener Yasir Khan and a swift contribution from Iftikhar Ahmed towards the end of the innings.

Yasir led the scoring with a blistering 87 off 44 balls, which included six boundaries and six maximums. Iftikhar remained unbeaten with a score of 40 off just 18 deliveries, hitting six boundaries, three of which were sixes.

In their chase, the Qalandars managed to score 195/9 in their allotted 20 overs, despite a notable half-century from veteran all-rounder Sikandar Raza.

Emerging fast bowler Ubaid Shah was the most successful bowler for the Sultans, taking three wickets for 37 runs in his spell of four overs.

Bracewell and Usama Mir provided support by taking two wickets each, while David Willey and Josh Little each claimed one wicket.

Despite the 33-run victory, the Sultans, who had lost their initial three games, remained at the bottom of the standings with two points from four games and a net run rate of -1.790, trailing Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators, who also have two points each.

The Qalandars, however, maintained their position with four points from four games, trailing Karachi Kings, who are second with six points after five games.

The current leaders of the PSL 10 standings are Islamabad United, the defending champions, who have eight points after four games and a net run rate of 2.544.
