Lahore Qalandars Gear Up for PSL 10 Eliminator Against Karachi Kings

Lahore Qalandars are set to compete against Karachi Kings in the PSL 10 Eliminator match held in Lahore.

Lahore Qalandars have been bolstered by the return of Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, who has rejoined the squad after fulfilling his commitments to his national team. This is a significant advantage as they prepare for their crucial Eliminator clash against Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.

The franchise announced his return via their social media channels, accompanied by a picture of Rishad and the message: “LOOK WHO’S BACK!! It’s Rishad Hossain — back in the squad ahead of the all-important Eliminator against Karachi Kings.”

Rishad has made a strong impression during his debut season with the Qalandars, demonstrating both control and skill in the middle overs.

Across five games, he has taken nine wickets at an average of 16.44, emphasizing his ability to perform effectively under pressure.

His return is particularly timely as Lahore Qalandars prepare to face their rivals in the Eliminator on Thursday, May 22, at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The Shaheen Afridi-led team now boasts three Bangladeshi players, having recently recruited all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz as a replacement for Sikandar Raza for the playoff matches.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially approved Mehidy’s participation with a No Objection Certificate (NOC), and he is scheduled to arrive in Lahore by Tuesday.

At Qalandars, Mehidy will team up with fellow veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib, along with Sri Lanka’s Bhanuka Rajapaksa, was brought in to replace David Wiese and Sam Billings, who are unavailable for the remainder of the competition.

Shakib played his first PSL 10 game for Lahore on Sunday against Peshawar Zalmi, but it was an unremarkable debut—he was dismissed for a golden duck and gave away 18 runs in two overs without taking a wicket.

Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators, under the leadership of Saud Shakeel, have secured their spot in the PSL 10 final after their victory against Islamabad United on Wednesday.

Lahore Qalandars will compete against Karachi Kings in the Eliminator on Thursday.

The winner of this match will proceed to face Islamabad United in Qualifier 2 on May 23, competing for a place in the final against Quetta Gladiators on May 25.
