World Championship of Legends T20 League Season 2 Announced
Following a successful inaugural season, the World Championship of Legends (WCL) T20 League is returning for its second edition. The tournament is scheduled to take place in the July-August timeframe this year.
Pakistan Champions’ Performance in Season 1
The first season proved memorable for the Pakistan Champions, who secured dominant victories during the league stage, notably including a convincing win against their rivals, India.
- Pakistan initiated their journey with a triumph over Australia.
- This was followed by a significant victory against the West Indies.
- They continued their strong performance with a high-scoring win over India, posting a total of 243/4 and restricting India to 175/9.
- The team, led by Younis Khan, also defeated England but experienced their sole defeat in the league stage against South Africa.
The Men in Green progressed to the semi-finals, where they once again outperformed the West Indies, achieving a 20-run victory and securing their spot in the final against India. However, in a closely contested final, Pakistan was unable to defend a total of 157. India successfully chased the target in 19.1 overs, winning by five wickets.
WCL Season 2 Details
The upcoming second edition of the WCL will showcase legendary cricketers from six nations: India, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, and the West Indies.
- The competition is set to commence on July 18.
- Pakistan Champions will face England Champions at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham in their first match.
- The highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for July 20, also at Edgbaston.
