PCB Chairman Acknowledges Ground Staff’s Dedication at Gaddafi Stadium

LAHORE: Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), conveyed his appreciation to the ground staff at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Monday, recognizing their hard work during recent cricket events.

Following the third T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh, the PCB chairman personally met with the ground staff at Gaddafi Stadium to praise their efforts and boost their morale.

He also shared a video of the meeting on his X account (formerly Twitter), where he highlighted the crew’s dedication throughout the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Pakistan versus Bangladesh series.

Naqvi lauded the team for their constant work, particularly in tough weather, ensuring the pitch and outfield remained in prime condition.

“I want to express my gratitude to the ground staff at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore,” he stated.

The PCB Chairman acknowledged their efforts in the face of extreme heat, which helped maintain superior pitch and ground conditions.

“Your tireless work and dedication during the PSL and the Pakistan versus Bangladesh series have been noticed. Working continuously—especially in the intense heat—you made sure the ground and pitches were in top-notch condition,” he concluded.

Notably, Pakistan secured the three-match T20I series 3-0, winning the final match by seven wickets at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Pakistan’s chase of 197 runs started poorly when Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed early for just one run off four balls by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

However, Mohammad Haris and Saim Ayub quickly steadied the innings. The pair added 56 runs during the powerplay, losing one wicket while maintaining a high scoring rate.

Haris and Saim formed a 92-run partnership for the second wicket, displaying aggressive stroke play to keep Pakistan in control. Tanzim Hasan broke the partnership by dismissing Saim for 45 off 29 balls, leaving Pakistan at 100-2 after 9.5 overs.

Mohammad Haris continued to anchor the innings, reaching his half-century as Pakistan reached 115-2 after 11 overs.

Hasan Nawaz contributed a quick 26 off 13 balls before being dismissed by Mehidy Hasan, bringing the score to 137-3 at 12.5 overs.

Haris continued his dominance, finding boundaries. He reached his first T20I century in 45 balls, displaying impressive batting.

Haris remained unbeaten with 107 off 46 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. Captain Agha Salman added 14 off 11 balls as Pakistan chased down the target in 17.1 overs.
