Jake Paul to Face Julio César Chávez Jr. in Upcoming Bout

Jake Paul is scheduled to return to the boxing ring this summer to take on former WBC Middleweight Champion Julio César Chávez Jr., following his recent victory against Mike Tyson in a highly publicized Netflix event.

According to sources at The Ring magazine, the YouTuber-turned-boxer will square off against Chávez Jr. (54-6-1) in a cruiserweight match.

This fight represents a significant advancement for Paul as he aims to enhance his record against more experienced competitors.

Chávez Jr., the offspring of boxing legend and Hall of Famer Julio César Chávez Sr. — considered by many as the greatest Mexican boxer ever — had previously challenged Paul.

The challenge was issued after Chávez Jr.’s victory over former UFC fighter Uriah Hall in July 2024.

The 38-year-old Mexican fighter was the WBC Middleweight titleholder from 2011 to 2012.

Since Paul’s professional debut, Chávez Jr. has participated in only five fights, securing victories in three. His most recent bout was a unanimous decision win against Hall on the undercard of Paul’s match against Mike Perry.

Paul (11-1, 7 KOs), 28, last fought on November 15, 2024, achieving a unanimous decision victory over Hall of Famer and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

His sole professional defeat was against Tommy Fury in February 2023. Paul’s wins include victories over former UFC stars Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz, and Anderson Silva.

Notably, both Paul and Chávez Jr. share a common opponent in Silva. Chávez Jr. was defeated by the former UFC middleweight champion in 2021, while Paul secured a victory over Silva via unanimous decision in 2022.
