Pakistan Champions to Inaugurate World Championship of Legends 2025 Against England Champions

Sharjeel Khan, the dynamic left-handed opener, will once again represent Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. The tournament is set to take place in Birmingham from July 18 to August 2.

The franchise confirmed Sharjeel’s participation via their official social media platforms. They enthusiastically welcomed the power-hitting batsman as the newest member of the squad.

The franchise’s post read, “A blink and you’ll miss a SIX! Sharjeel Khan is back to ignite the game from the very first ball in #WCLSeason2. How many maximums do you predict he’ll smash this season?”

Sharjeel was instrumental in Pakistan Champions’ journey to the WCL 2024 final. He emerged as the team’s second-highest scorer, accumulating 221 runs in seven appearances, maintaining an average of 31.57 and an impressive strike rate of 193.85.

The experienced 35-year-old has an extensive background in the T20 format, featuring in 161 matches throughout his impressive 19-year career. He has amassed 3793 runs at an average of 24.95, including five centuries and 17 half-centuries.

Earlier in the week, Pakistan Champions announced the appointment of former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez as the team’s captain for the tournament. The event will showcase retired legends from six prominent cricketing nations: Pakistan, India, Australia, South Africa, England, and the West Indies.

The competition will commence on July 18, with Pakistan Champions locking horns with England Champions at the renowned Edgbaston Stadium.

The highly anticipated match between rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled for July 20, also at Edgbaston.
