Fatima Sana Ascends in Bowling and All-Rounder Rankings
Pakistan’s victorious journey at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifiers has guaranteed their participation in the main event this year and boosted several Pakistani players in the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings.
Pakistan remained undefeated during the tournament, concluding their campaign with a dominant seven-wicket triumph over Bangladesh in Lahore recently, securing the top position in the standings.
Their remarkable performances have now been acknowledged in the updated ODI rankings, with several leading players achieving considerable progress in both batting and bowling categories.
Pakistan’s captain, Fatima Sana, who led the tournament with 12 wickets, has advanced five places to attain a joint 27th position in the bowling rankings.
She also amassed 103 runs across four innings, maintaining an average of 34.33, resulting in a significant rise in the all-rounders’ rankings, where she climbed 10 spots to secure a shared 15th position.
Sadia Iqbal, Pakistan’s left-arm spinner, was also recognized for her nine wickets during the qualifying event, improving her position by five places to 17th in the ODI bowling rankings.
Nashra Sandhu also observed a notable improvement in her ranking, moving up one place to secure the 13th position.
Sidra Amin, a top-order batter, emerged as Pakistan’s highest scorer in the Qualifier, accumulating 225 runs in five innings with an average of 45, aided by three half-centuries. She ascended five places to claim the 18th position in the ODI batting rankings.
Meanwhile, Muneeba Ali, another top-order batter, achieved a career-best ranking of 30th.
Bangladesh, having qualified for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India alongside Pakistan, witnessed their players being rewarded in the rankings update.
Nahida Akter, a left-arm spinner, advanced two places to achieve a career-high ranking of 10th, securing six wickets during the Qualifier.
Sharmin Akhter from Bangladesh also attained her career-best position of 21st.
Hayley Matthews, the captain of West Indies, who led the event with 13 wickets, maintained her position within the top 10 of the ODI bowling rankings, holding the ninth spot.
Matthews also improved her batting ranking by two places, securing the fifth position.
