Pakistan Overcomes Chinese Taipei in Asian Youth Netball Championship

JEONJU: Pakistan’s netball team showcased their prowess at the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025, securing a convincing 56-32 victory against Chinese Taipei in their second group stage match. The contest unfolded at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in Jeonju-si, South Korea on Saturday.

This triumph signifies Pakistan’s second successive win in the competition. Previously, they dominated Saudi Arabia with a decisive 71-15 victory in their opening match.

The ongoing tournament in South Korea features eleven teams from across Asia, all vying for the top spot in youth netball.

The Pakistani team demonstrated exceptional teamwork and coordination throughout the match, contributing to their success.

Key players such as Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Summayya Safdar, Haleema, Sarina Hussain, Jasmine Farooq, Farah Rasheed, Amani, and Parisa played pivotal roles in the team’s impressive performance.

Mudassar Arian, Chairman of the Pakistan Netball Federation, alongside President Sameen Malik and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz, extended their congratulations to the national team for their dominant performance.

They also commended the team’s overall execution and consistency demonstrated thus far in the tournament.

Pakistan currently holds the top position in Pool B in the group standings. The team is scheduled to compete against hosts South Korea in their third match on Sunday, June 29.

Following this, they will face Japan and the Maldives on June 30 and July 1, respectively, concluding their five group-stage matches.

A total of 11 teams are participating in the championship, divided into two groups to streamline the competition.

Group A consists of Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India, while Group B includes Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, Korea, Japan, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia.

The Asian Youth Netball Championship 2025 is scheduled from June 27 to July four.
