Pakistan vs. West Indies ODI Series Commences August 8 in Trinidad and Tobago

LAUDERHILL: On Friday, four members of Pakistan’s ODI team arrived here in preparation for the upcoming three-match series against the West Indies, which is set to begin on August 8.

Specifically, the players who have arrived include captain Mohammad Rizwan, star batter Babar Azam, Abdullah Shafique, and Naseem Shah.

This group will join the rest of the ODI squad members currently here, and the entire team will then travel to Trinidad and Tobago after the T20I series concludes.

The three ODI matches are scheduled to take place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on August 8, 10, and 12, respectively.

It is worth mentioning that this tour signifies Babar Azam’s return to the national side in all formats, following his previous appearance against New Zealand in April of this year.

Babar, 30, is not included in Pakistan’s T20I plans; his last appearance in the T20I format was in December 2024 against South Africa.

Wicketkeeper-batter Rizwan also last played a T20I during the same series.

In related news, Pakistan’s T20I team began their three-match series against the West Indies with a convincing 14-run victory on Thursday at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground.
