Commentary Team Announced for T20I Tri-Series in Sharjah

SHARJAH: The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed its commentary team for the upcoming T20I tri-series featuring the UAE, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, commencing this Friday.

The commentary panel will feature four former Pakistani cricketers: Ramiz Raja, Aamir Sohail, Bazid Khan, and Salman Butt.

They will be accompanied by Indian broadcaster Neil Ojha, a well-known personality on TV and radio, alongside sports commentator Ahmad Fareed.

Scheduled from August 29 to September 7 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the tri-series is seen as crucial preparation for the approaching ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup in the UAE from September 9 to 28.

Originally, Pakistan was set to host Afghanistan for a bilateral series in August.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) then proposed transforming it into a tri-nation event in the UAE, giving players a chance to adjust to the local conditions before the Asia Cup.

The tournament starts on Friday, August 29, with Pakistan facing Afghanistan in the opening match at 7:00 pm local time.

During the group stage, each team will compete against the others twice, with the top two teams proceeding to the final on September 7.
