Okolie Challenges Itauma for a Fight

Lawrence Okolie has publicly challenged the rising heavyweight star, Moses Itauma, to a boxing match, according to recent reports.

Itauma has swiftly become a formidable presence in the sport, boasting an undefeated record of 13 wins and no losses, with an impressive 11 victories achieved by knockout.

The 20-year-old fighter showcases exceptional talent and has drawn comparisons to legendary figures like Mike Tyson since his early career.

Itauma secured a notable victory against Dillian Whyte in a non-title bout on August 16 in Saudi Arabia.

The British boxer seized the opportunity, winning in the first round and adding a significant name to his list of knockout victories.

In a recent interview, Okolie, a former champion in both the cruiserweight and bridgerweight divisions, responded to a question about potentially facing Itauma by stating, “Yes, absolutely, it’s time now.”

Okolie elaborated, “Absolutely, yeah. Yeah, next. He’s one of the only boxers I can say I am a fan of, maybe because he’s young or whatever else.”

He further added, “However, if there’s a time to fight him it’s before he gains too much experience. So Dillian Whyte, OK cool, but if he beats a Parker, by the time you get to fight him, he’s a seasoned pro.”

Okolie concluded, “The guy’s 13 and 0, great KO power, great everything, whatever, but maybe someone can old man him and it’s time now.”

Okolie has competed twice before in the heavyweight division, including a victory against Kevin Larena in July. A match against Moses Itauma would further enhance his professional record.
