Santo Extends Nottingham Forest Contract After Successful Season
Nottingham Forest has officially announced that manager Nuno Espirito Santo has signed a contract extension, committing to the club until the summer of 2028. The announcement, made on Saturday, solidifies Santo’s position after a remarkable season.
Appointed in December 2023, Nuno successfully steered Forest away from relegation concerns and achieved their highest league position in almost three decades, securing seventh place in the 2024–25 Premier League season.
This impressive performance also guarantees Forest a place in European competition for the first time since the 1995–96 season. The team narrowly missed out on a Champions League qualification spot, finishing just behind Newcastle United. They are now set to participate in the UEFA Conference League playoff stage later in the year.
Nuno’s positive influence was further highlighted by his achievement of winning three Premier League Manager of the Month awards during the 2024–25 campaign, recognising his effective return to English football.
Previously, he managed Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he was praised for leading the team to the Premier League and securing European qualification. He also had a short tenure at Tottenham Hotspur.
Following the confirmation of his new three-year contract, Nuno conveyed his enthusiasm for continuing to build upon the club’s progress.
“I am very happy to continue our journey at this incredible football club,” Nuno stated.
He emphasised the significance of the strong relationship between the players, fans, and everyone associated with the club.
“We have worked extremely hard to create a special bond between the players, the supporters, and everyone at the club. This helped us accomplish great things last season, and now it’s time to work even harder as we aim for more special moments together,” he added.
