Demons Overpower Tigers in Decisive Victory

BATON ROUGE: At Alex Box Stadium on Tuesday night, the Northwestern State Demons showcased a dominant performance, defeating the LSU Tigers with a score of 13-3.

The weather-delayed game saw Northwestern State seize control early, exploding for six runs in the third inning. A three-run homer by first baseman Braden Benton highlighted the scoring surge.

Benton ultimately tallied four RBIs, while third baseman Rocco Gump and shortstop Samuel Stephenson contributed three and two RBIs, respectively, to the Demons’ impressive offensive display.

The Tigers’ offense struggled to respond, managing only solo home runs from outfielders Derek Curiel and Josh Pearson, along with a solo shot from first baseman Jake Brown.

This loss marks the first midweek defeat for the Tigers this season.

“This was a subpar effort from our team,” stated LSU head coach Jay Johnson.

“We are disappointed with our performance tonight. We’ll refocus and work hard to ensure a similar game does not occur again.”

LSU seeks to bounce back this weekend as they host Tennessee in a three-game SEC series, commencing Friday at Alex Box Stadium.
