Arshad Nadeem Gears Up for World Athletics Championships

LAHORE: Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s prominent javelin thrower, announced on Monday his intense focus on the World Athletics Championships, which will take place in September.

Speaking to the media during the World Olympic Day celebration in Lahore, Nadeem emphasized that this forthcoming global competition is his paramount concern, and he is dedicated to achieving an exceptional performance.

He also revealed his imminent departure for England, where he intends to undergo further training for a month.

“My attention is directed towards the World Athletics Championships, and I am committed to preparing diligently for it,” Nadeem stated.

“The weather in Lahore is quite hot. I will be traveling to England shortly for a month of training,” he added.

The celebrated athlete expressed his pride in participating in the World Olympic Day ceremony as a gold medalist for the first time and encouraged aspiring athletes to maintain unwavering focus on their objectives.

“I am delighted to be part of the Olympic Day celebration. Olympic Day promotes awareness of sports,” Nadeem remarked.

“It is a moment of honor for athletes to commemorate this day, and I am especially proud to celebrate it as an Olympic gold medalist for the first time.”

“My advice to young athletes is to remain focused. I emerged from a humble background and secured a gold medal. Therefore, with dedication, they too can achieve medal-winning success.”

Notably, Nadeem gained international recognition last year when he established a new Olympic javelin record with an impressive throw of 92.97 meters at the Paris Olympics, earning him the coveted gold medal.

Continuing his impressive form, Arshad Nadeem replicated his success at the Asian Athletics Championship last month, clinching another gold medal with an 86.40-meter throw.
