Kudus Inks Six-Year Deal with Spurs Until 2031
LONDON: Tottenham Hotspur has officially confirmed the acquisition of Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, securing him with a long-term agreement. The announcement was made by the club on Thursday.
Specific financial details regarding the transfer remain undisclosed; however, various British media sources estimate the transaction to be around £55 million ($74.59 million).
Reportedly, Kudus has committed to a six-year contract, ensuring his presence with the North London team through 2031.
Kudus mentioned that Tottenham’s future plans and the presence of newly appointed head coach Thomas Frank were crucial elements in his decision to transfer.
In a statement, Kudus remarked, “A significant factor in my decision to join was the project’s vision, how the coach (Thomas Frank) perceives it, and the chance to improve under his guidance.”
He further stated that Frank’s prior achievements in developing players greatly influenced his decision to join.
“Considering his background, I’ve noticed the substantial number of players he has mentored into successful athletes. This was a primary reason I wanted to collaborate with him.”
Following Ange Postecoglou’s departure, Tottenham recently appointed Thomas Frank, formerly the manager of Brentford.
Kudus transitioned to West Ham from Ajax Amsterdam in 2023 for approximately €40 million ($46.7 million). During his tenure at London Stadium, he scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists throughout two Premier League seasons.
