Usama Mir Aims to Shine in PSL 10

Multan Sultans’ key all-rounder, Usama Mir, has voiced his eagerness to put up match-winning performances in all aspects of the game during the upcoming Pakistan Super League season 10.

The 29-year-old leg spinner shared his aspirations for the tournament, mentioning that they had prepared well for PSL and the Multan camp played a vital role in building a strong base. He added that they had created specific plans for the conditions in Karachi and hoped to begin their campaign successfully.

Regarding Multan’s three successive final losses from 2022 to 2024, Mir stated that the team would ensure the game does not go to the wire this time around.

If they reach the final, their main goal is to conclude the match early and not let it go down to the final ball, he stated. He affirmed their determination to finally lift the trophy. He added that his performances in the previous two seasons were satisfactory, and he is now focused on constant improvement.

Mir mentioned his commitment to learning from past errors and striving to improve every day.

He shared that after his performance in the 2023 World Cup wasn’t up to par, he worked hard on his bowling. Since then, his performances have improved significantly. He is committed to daily work on enhancing his performance and abilities.

The cricketer emphasized the importance of PSL for players, noting it as the most vital tournament for every cricketer.

He said that it elevates players to the international level.

He further added that it is a great chance for youngsters, while experienced players can use it to make comebacks. He aims to leverage his experience on this platform to help win matches with his bowling.

When asked about his sporadic selection for the national team, Mir said that he doesn’t get discouraged when opportunities are limited.

He said that sports teach you to persevere and keep trying.

He is consistently working on improving his shortcomings and becoming a better player.

In response to a question, he noted that bowlers have a very small margin for error in T20s. Thus, he studies the strengths and weaknesses of batters to exploit their vulnerabilities before each match.

He focuses on bowling accurately to trouble batters instead of using too many variations. He believes a leg-spinner can be effective in taking wickets in T20s with precise bowling.

Discussing PSL 10 and the competition level, Mir observed that every team appears strong. He said that it is difficult to single out one particular rival.

Mir promised a complete performance and said that fans would witness his contributions in bowling, batting, and fielding this PSL.
