Karachi Kings’ Adam Milne Excluded from PSL 10 Due to Injury
LAHORE: A setback has hit Karachi Kings as their New Zealand fast bowler, Adam Milne, will not participate further in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 because of a knee injury.
Milne sustained the injury on April 15 during the Kings’ second match this season against Lahore Qalandars. He remained with the team with hopes of recovery, but medical assessments confirmed his unavailability for the remainder of the season.
The Karachi Kings administration conveyed appreciation for Milne’s commitment and wished him a swift recovery. Milne participated in two games before his injury.
As a replacement, Saad Baig, an emerging talent, has been added to the Karachi Kings squad for the duration of the tournament. Baig, who is also the captain of Pakistan’s Under-19 team, was previously with the team as temporary cover for Kane Williamson.
The left-handed batsman has already shown promise, playing in two matches and scoring 29 runs, including a quickfire innings against Islamabad United.
Despite the absence of their key international bowler, the Kings are performing well in the points table, currently holding the second position with three victories out of five games.
Karachi commenced their campaign with an impressive chase of 235 runs against Multan Sultans.
This was followed by a convincing 56-run win over Quetta Gladiators and a close win against Peshawar Zalmi. Their only losses have been against Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.
