Arsenal to Host Villarreal and Athletic Club in Pre-Season Friendlies

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, expressed his confidence in the team’s potential for success this season during a statement on Wednesday.

Ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester United, Arsenal intends to play a pair of friendly matches at their home ground, facing off against Villarreal and Athletic Club.

Recent additions to the squad include Viktor Gyokeres, midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, center-back Cristhian Mosquera, winger Noni Madueke, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.

Arteta believes that these new players significantly bolster the team’s capabilities.

Arteta stated that the new signings enhance the team’s overall strength and will be essential in the seasons ahead. He acknowledged their near successes in previous seasons and affirmed their current objectives.

“The new players will add more quality to the squad and will give us different options and more depth, which is what we need for the upcoming season,” Arteta commented.

“We know what we want to achieve this season and there is a big belief within the team that we can achieve it.”

“We’ve been really close in recent seasons and the whole team is determined to go a step further to achieve our goals.”

He emphasized the importance of daily efforts to reach their desired level and maintain focus on their objectives.

“We have to make sure we are doing everything we can to reach the levels we want, whilst ensuring we don’t lose sight of what we need to do daily to get there,” he concluded.
