Donnarumma Thrilled to Join Manchester City

MANCHESTER: Gianluigi Donnarumma has officially become a Manchester City player, penning a five-year deal after Ederson Santana de Moraes’ departure from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The Premier League team made the announcement on Tuesday.

The specific financial details of the agreement were not revealed. However, British media outlets suggest that Manchester City paid approximately 30 million pounds ($40.5 million) to secure Donnarumma’s services.

The 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper is now committed to the Etihad Stadium through the summer of 2030.

Notably, Donnarumma was instrumental in Italy’s EURO 2020 victory, earning Player of the Tournament honors after a decisive penalty shootout performance against England at Wembley, which Italy won 3-2.

Donnarumma conveyed his excitement about joining Manchester City, expressing admiration for Pep Guardiola’s managerial abilities.

“Signing with Manchester City is an incredibly special and proud moment for me,” Donnarumma stated.

“I am joining a team filled with world-class players and guided by one of football’s greatest managers, Pep Guardiola. It’s a dream club for any player.”
He further stated his enthusiasm about joining the team and his dedication to supporting their continued triumphs.

“I have long admired Manchester City, and the opportunity to play for this club is a huge honor,” Donnarumma added.

“I am eager to meet my new teammates, the staff, and the fans. Playing at the Etihad Stadium will be a truly special experience.

“I am incredibly excited about the future and promise to give everything I have to help the Club achieve even greater success.”
