Pakistani Squash Players Set to Compete in Asian Junior Championship

Eleven talented squash players from Pakistan are geared up to participate in the 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championship, scheduled to commence in Korea. The young athletes will be competing across a range of age divisions.

Boys U-13 Category

Sohail Adnan, representing Pakistan in the Boys U-13 category, holds the top seed position in the tournament and will receive a bye in the initial round. Meanwhile, Mustafa Khan is slated to face off against a competitor from Malaysia to begin his journey.

Girls U-13 Category

In the Girls U-13 category, Mahnoor Ali is seeded third and is preparing to compete against a player hailing from Thailand in her opening match.

Boys U-19 Category

Abdullah Nawaz and Anas Shah are featured in the Boys U-19 category, holding the third and fourth seed positions, respectively. Both players have been granted byes for the first round.

Boys U-17 Category

Umar Arif and Yahya Khan have also secured byes in the Boys U-17 category, allowing them to proceed directly to the competition’s second round.

Boys U-15 Category

Ahmed Rayyan Khalil and Noman Khan will be in action in the Boys U-15 category. Noman is set to play against a Thai player, while Rayyan Khalil is scheduled to compete against a player from Sri Lanka.

Girls U-17 and U-15 Categories

Among the female participants, Mehwish Ali (Girls U-17) and Sehrish Ali (Girls U-15) are also included in their respective draws. Mehwish will face a Korean opponent in the first round, whereas Sehrish is preparing to compete against a player from Macau.

Earlier this year, Sohail Adnan achieved a significant milestone by securing a victory in the British Junior Open Squash Championship in the Under-13 category. In an exciting final match, Sohail, who was seeded fourth, overcame Egypt’s top-seeded player, Moiz Tamir Al-Mughazi, in a gripping contest. Despite trailing 2-1, Sohail displayed remarkable determination and triumphed with a final score of 11-5, 5-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-5.
