Kokkinakis Predicts Sinner Will Clinch US Open 2025

Australian tennis professional Thanasi Kokkinakis has voiced his support for Italian player Jannik Sinner to emerge victorious at the US Open 2025, according to recent reports.

Darren Cahill, Sinner’s coach, provided an update on Wednesday regarding the world number one’s condition, stating that he is expected to be ready to defend his US Open title.

Concerns arose about the Italian athlete’s participation in the year’s final Grand Slam after he withdrew from the Cincinnati Open final and the US Open mixed doubles event.

However, the Italian tennis sensation has commenced training, completing his initial session at Flushing Meadows recently.

The world’s top-ranked player, and current champion of the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and US Open, has become a dominant force in tennis.

Sinner’s primary competition is anticipated to be Carlos Alcaraz once again, with whom he has contested the last several major tournaments.

During a recent episode of the Australian Open podcast, Thanasi Kokkinakis endorsed Sinner as the frontrunner to secure the US Open title.

“I don’t believe Sinner will be negatively impacted. He was understandably disappointed about having to retire during the Cincinnati final, but he wasn’t the only competitor experiencing such issues,” Kokkinakis commented.

“Tournaments in North America are particularly challenging due to the intense heat and high humidity levels.

“Regardless, I anticipate Jannik will be in peak form in New York, and I maintain my view of him as the leading contender.”

Sinner is slated to begin his US Open journey on either Monday, August 25, or Tuesday, August 26, in the final Grand Slam event of the year.
