Draper Optimistic After Arm Injury Recovery, Eyes US Open

Jack Draper has expressed a positive outlook regarding his physical and tennis condition after addressing his arm ailment, according to reports from international media on Tuesday. He is eager to compete in the upcoming US Open.

Draper’s arm injury previously sidelined him, forcing him to withdraw from both the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open. His aim is to be in peak condition for the US Open.

The British No. 1’s most recent appearance was at Wimbledon, where he was defeated by Marin Cilic in the second round.

Draper stated that following medical advice to rest, he took time to relax and mentally disconnect from tennis. Subsequently, he concentrated on enhancing his fitness and now feels revitalized.

“My doctors and team suggested I needed a break. I took a few days to unwind and forget about tennis. Then, I felt very motivated to return and dedicate myself to a rigorous fitness regime, working hard to improve physically,” Draper explained.

Jack Draper also mentioned his return to tennis training after focusing on his arm’s recovery.

He acknowledged his disappointment at missing two tournaments but emphasized that the time off allowed for valuable reflection, and he now feels prepared for the US Open.

“Returning to tennis gradually to protect my arm, these past weeks have been very productive. Missing Toronto and Cincinnati was a setback, but I believe it was beneficial for me to contemplate and refine my game,” Draper stated.

“I’m truly excited about participating in the US Open; I’m in an excellent personal and athletic state. I feel rejuvenated, driven, and can’t wait to compete again.”
