Imad Wasim Reveals the Thought Behind His Celebrations
Islamabad United’s dynamic all-rounder, Imad Wasim, has shared the inspiration driving his unique victory celebrations in the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 season.
During an interview on the PSL’s official YouTube channel, the 36-year-old explained that PlayStation FIFA sessions with his teammates and management staff sparked the idea for these celebrations.
“Our celebratory actions are actually planned ahead of time with the entire squad, including the management,” the all-rounder stated.
“We dedicate a lot of our free time to playing FIFA together, so to clarify, these aren’t spontaneous acts. Each player has a designated celebration this season, and I’ve decided to honor footballers Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappé,” Imad Wasim clarified.
The left-arm spinner reiterated that his celebrations are carefully considered beforehand. “Before each match, as a team, we agree on which celebration I will perform if I manage to take wickets. It’s all part of strengthening our team spirit and enjoying our on-field performances.”
Imad Wasim’s enthusiastic displays have been supported by impressive performances, having secured six wickets in three matches, including a best of 3/26.
Joining him in the interview, Islamabad United’s captain, Shadab Khan, conveyed his satisfaction with the team’s start to the tournament, which included three successive victories.
The skipper also gave special commendation to West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder, recognizing him as a “proven match-winner” following his impactful contributions.
“When we consider signing international players, we carry out a comprehensive analysis of their statistics and suitability,” Shadab explained.
“Holder has performed exceptionally well and proven his worth. His experience and passion have been evident in every game. He’s bowling with considerable intensity, which is precisely what we need.”
