Imad Wasim Explains Unique Celebration Style
Islamabad United’s dynamic all-rounder, Imad Wasim, has shared insights into the distinctive celebrations he showcases after taking a wicket in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.
Speaking on the PSL’s official YouTube platform, the 36-year-old cricketer unveiled that these unique celebrations are a product of PlayStation FIFA gaming sessions with his teammates and management personnel.
“Our celebrations are strategically planned alongside the entire team, which includes management,” the all-rounder stated.
“We dedicate a significant portion of our leisure time to playing FIFA together. To clarify, these aren’t arbitrary actions; each player boasts a personalized celebration this season, and I’ve opted to honor footballers Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappé,” Imad Wasim explained.
The left-arm spinner emphasized that his celebrations are predetermined. “Before each match, we collectively decide on the specific celebration I’ll execute upon taking wickets. It’s an integral part of our team’s camaraderie and enriches the enjoyment of our performances.”
Imad Wasim has complemented his energetic displays with impressive performances, securing six wickets in three games, highlighted by his best figures of 3/26.
During the interview, Islamabad United’s captain, Shadab Khan, who was present, conveyed his contentment with his team’s positive start to the tournament, marked by three successive victories.
The skipper also commended West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder, recognizing him as a “proven match-winner” following his impactful contributions.
“When securing overseas players, we conduct comprehensive assessments of their statistics and appropriateness,” Shadab clarified.
“Holder has performed exceptionally well, validating his selection. His wealth of experience and drive have been evident in every match. He’s demonstrating remarkable intensity in his bowling, which aligns precisely with our needs.”
