Pakistani Bowlers Ascend in Latest T20I Rankings
Pakistani bowlers have demonstrated notable advancement in the most recent ICC T20I rankings. Conversely, the nation’s batsmen have seen a downturn.
Fast bowler Haris Rauf improved his position by a pair, achieving 24th place with 575 points. Abbas Afridi also moved up, claiming 26th place with 572 points.
Sufiyan Muqeem, a spinner, and Shaheen Afridi, a left-arm pacer, have also ascended, now ranked 33rd and 34th with scores of 542 and 541, respectively.
On the contrary, the spin combination of Mohammad Nawaz and Abrar Ahmed experienced a decline, dropping to 58th and 61st positions by two and one place, respectively. Shadab Khan descended one spot to 73rd.
Jacob Duffy of New Zealand is currently the leading T20I bowler, followed by Adil Rashid of England in second position and Akeal Hosein of the West Indies in third.
Regarding batting, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan, who have been absent from T20I matches in 2024, each fell one position to 18th and 20th, respectively.
Middle-order batter Hassan Nawaz dropped two places to 32nd, while Saim Ayub went down to 38th with a score of 559 points.
Additional significant declines include Sahibzada Farhan sliding to 64th, T20I captain Salman Ali Agha falling to 77th, left-handed batter Fakhar Zaman at 79th, and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, who descended two places to 88th.
Abhishek Sharma of India is still at the top of the T20I batting rankings.
Changes in the second and third positions included Travis Head of Australia dropping two positions to fourth, clearing the way for Tilak Varma of India to move up to second and Phil Salt of England to take third place.
