Hasan Aims to Secure Victories and Contribute to Pakistan’s Trophy Success
LAHORE: Hasan Nawaz, the dynamic Pakistani batter, articulated his strong resolve to consistently deliver high-impact performances for the national side on Thursday.
He mentioned his transition to a middle-order batting position and affirmed his dedication to excel in this role.
During the first T20I against Bangladesh on Wednesday, Hasan showcased his power-hitting abilities with a rapid 44 runs from just 22 deliveries, which included four towering sixes and two boundaries, significantly contributing to Pakistan’s triumph.
The 22-year-old also left a mark in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 while representing Quetta Gladiators, emerging as the team’s third-highest scorer.
Hasan accumulated a total of 399 runs in the tournament, marked by a century and three half-centuries.
In a conversation featured on the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) podcast, Hasan remarked that despite predominantly opening in his cricketing journey, he is prepared to embrace and thrive in his new middle-order assignment.
“I have predominantly been an opener. I wasn’t sure of my effectiveness in the middle order. Having been assigned this responsibility, I am committed to giving my utmost,” he stated.
Hasan further added that he remains composed under pressure, which paradoxically enhances his performance.
“Be it domestic matches or the PSL, I’ve never succumbed to pressure. In fact, I excel under such circumstances, enabling me to maintain a high level of performance.”
Outlining his objectives, Hasan expressed his aspiration to participate in and secure victories in numerous matches for Pakistan. Furthermore, he harbours a strong desire to be an integral part of a World Cup-winning contingent.
“My primary objective is to compete and contribute to Pakistan’s victories. My ultimate aspiration is to be a part of the team when Pakistan clinches a significant title,” he concluded.
