Haliburton Attributes Performance to Aggressive Mindset

Tyrese Haliburton achieved a historic milestone in Tuesday’s game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, becoming the first NBA player to register 30 points, 15 assists, 10 rebounds, and zero turnovers in a single postseason contest. The last time such a performance was witnessed was in the 1977-78 season.

The Indiana Pacers are now on the verge of their first NBA Finals appearance since 2000.

Haliburton propelled the Pacers to a 130-121 victory against the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Indianapolis, posting 32 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds without committing a single turnover.

In addition to securing his second career postseason triple-double, Haliburton made five 3-pointers and had four steals, giving the Pacers a dominant 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Reflecting on his remarkable showing, Haliburton indicated that it was a direct response to the team’s defeat in Game 3 on Sunday.

Haliburton’s Remarks

“My focus was simply on playing with intensity and responding effectively,” Haliburton stated.

“I felt I had let the squad down in Game 3, so it was vital for me to come out with purpose and execute plays. My teammates created opportunities for me to make plays and perform naturally. This was a crucial victory for us,” he added.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle acknowledged Haliburton’s approach but noted that his primary concern was not the statistics.

Coach Carlisle’s Perspective

“He was exceptionally good at advancing the ball quickly tonight, which was critical,” Carlisle commented.

“He happens to achieve some statistically significant feats, but he is aware that the game involves much more than just numbers,” he concluded.
