Glamorgan Clinches Decisive Victory Over Gloucestershire in Vitality Blast 2024

BRISTOL: At the County Ground on Sunday, Imad Wasim delivered an exceptional performance, propelling Glamorgan to a convincing 40-run triumph against Gloucestershire in the Vitality Blast 2024.

After being sent in to bat, Glamorgan achieved a total of 189-6 in their 20 overs. This was largely due to Asa Tribe’s explosive 63 not out from just 28 deliveries, which featured five boundaries and five maximums.

Ben Kellaway also played a crucial role, contributing 53 from 31 balls, with nine fours and a six, helping to stabilize the innings following early dismissals.

Glamorgan faced an initial setback, losing William Smale for a duck on the second ball, and captain Kiran Carlson departed for 8 off 12 balls, leaving the score at 27-2 in the fourth over.

Experienced batter Colin Ingram then contributed a valuable 38 from 28 balls, including three sixes, providing stability in the middle order.

Imad Wasim remained unbeaten on one run, having a limited impact with the bat.

In their chase, Gloucestershire were limited to 149-9, thanks to Glamorgan’s disciplined bowling attack.

Mason Crane stood out, claiming 4-20 in his four overs, while Imad Wasim delivered an impressive spell of 3-23 in his allotted overs.

Cameron Bancroft scored a half-century for Gloucestershire with 52 from 47 balls, and D’Arcy Short added 34 from 23, but the remaining batsmen struggled to perform under the pressure.

With this result, Glamorgan recorded their fourth victory in the ongoing competition.
